Linker Help (nanosleep)

Greeting Folks,
 I am trying to link a MPI application "non_shared" (static),it
 uses MPI, threads. It succeeds but is not able to resolve the
 symbol "nanosleep" ?? It is supposed to be there in "libc.a"
 or "libpthread, but keeps complaining that it is unsreolved.

 Any help will be appreciated.
