Problem with openssl 0.9.4 on Tru64

Hi Tru64 Colleagues,

e are trying to build openssl 0.9.4 on Tru64 V5.0. The package compiles
cleanly, however when running a

make test

The BN_SQR test suite fails at the 512 step (large number
multiplication)

Following this (since the compile was clean) we built apache 1.3.6 with
modssl and decided to try to generate a certificate using...

openssl req -new x509

openssl says it is generating a 1024 bit rsa cert but (like the energizer
bunny) just keeps going and going and going as if it is in an endless loop.

Has anyone solved this problem and gotten openssl/apache to build, test,
and run cleanly on Tru64?

TIA for any advice/help

Regards,

Jim
