Why does support end on v5.0 before v4.0G?

All,

I found the following chart on Compaq's website (
http://www.tru64unix.compaq.com/supported_versions.html ) and showed it to
the client I support to aid their upgrade planing.

I now have been asked by the client to find out why the support for V5.0
runs out before the support for v4.0G.

Any Information on this would be greatly appreciated.
