Adding SAN based disk under 4.0f

Fellow Admins,

We have a customer with a 4100 running 4.0f patch 3. The server has (2)
kgpsa's connected to a 16 port san switch with (4) pairs of HSG80 controllers
and a butt-load of drives. The customer is having a hard time getting the
drives to appear after a reboot. Under 4.0f the drives are supposed to appear
after a reboot without having todo a makedev I believe. In the past, with
HSZ based configurations, our field service folks would add a new KZPBA and
tell us the buss number it would use. We would then issue a 'scsimgr
-scan_bus bus=x' command to find the devices and create the device special
files. This was when we had to add storage without rebooting the system.
With a SAN, they only have the (2) KGPSA which use bus5 and bus6. So would
the -scan_bus command even work at that point? Also, does anyone know why new
drives would not be auto-discovered under version 4.0f-3? I hope it's not a
bug.

Thanks for any help with this!
John
