user authentication via LDAP instead of NIS on DUX 4.0F/5.1A ?

Hello Managers,

is there a way to provide a network wide user authentification
via LDAP instead of NIS ?

On Linux / Solaris / HP-UX this should be no problem because of PAM
(pluggable authentication modules).
But on Tru64 ???

Or is there an NIS-LDAP-gateway available like ypldapd from www.padl.com for
Solaris ?

Do you have experiences with LDAP servers like iPlanets Directory server or
Open LDAP ?
