Subject: RE: 'hostid' command "mean time SUMMARY"
Thank U all who helped me with that.
We needed to install some program.
this program checks for hostid Hexadecimal number.
since we received a zero output we entered the command: 'hostid "ip number"'
and then we received the correct output usually it works O.K. but here after
we reboot the system the zero output came up again
we discovered from Compaq that is a known bug in operating system 4.0F & E
some times it occur mostly it doesn't
Any way we have to work our way around and we had to enter the command line
in the end of the file /etc/inet.local and we open a bug database at Compaq
hopefully it will work
time will say, if there gonn'a be any news I'll mail it 2 U...
Thank U all
Doron

Subject: 'hostid' command
Hello managers.
I have a very strange situation
When I type the command 'hostid' I received a ' 0 ' output.
So, I've tried to set the id, 'hostid "ip number" ' and it seemed to be
working O.K., I've received a new hexadecimal output as it should be.
However after booting the system, the output of 'hostid' command returned to
' 0 '
If you got any ideas I'll appreciate your reply
Thanks
Doron
