Warning: 4.0F NHD3 contents corrupt on Compaq FTP sites

Dear all,

I have just finished enjoying the installation of the NHD3 kit. It
appears that the contents of the nhd3.tar.gz file on the Compaq sites
matches the published checksum _but_ once the CD is written and used
it unfortunately fails to find a number of .scp files while installing
(on my DS20E) subset 4 of 4. I had to cancel the installation of this
subset and, despite the warnings towards the possible instability of
the system, the machine is still up and running.

An earlier symptom which might be related is that the tar.gz
uncompresses with "trailing garbage".

Hopefully there are no binary bits and bobs missing from my system and
it is just a matter of catalogue updates in /usr/.smdb. but
nevertheless it isn't a pretty sight.

I have checked the CD for consistency with the ISO image and the
extracted files and indeed the ones mentioned in the error log (which
I didn't capture) are missing.
