swap on LSM volume?

I need to add some swap space on one of my dev. boxes. The only free space on this
system is on one drive that is part of an LSM disk group and it isn't possible to remove
this drive from the disk group.

How would I go about adding swap on an LSM volume?

Here is what I tried so far...

1. created a volume 'swap02' in the devdg. Made the volume type 'gen' instead of 'fsgen'

2. tried 'swapon /dev/vol/devdg/swap02' but this failed with the following error:
"/dev/vol/devdg/swap02 is an invalid device or cannot be opened."

3. 'ls -l /dev/*vol/devdg/swap02'
   "crw------- 1 root system 40, 13 Jan 22 00:01 /dev/rvol/devdg/swap02"
   "brw------- 1 root system 40, 13 Jan 22 00:01 /dev/vol/devdg/swap02"

4. 'swapon /dev/rvol/devdg/swap02'
"/dev/rvol/devdg/swap02 is an invalid device or cannot be opened."

Any insight?

(By the way, the archive is still off-line...)
