How to stop Remote Console?

We've got a DS20 running v5.1. We've got one Network Interface Card talking
to our lan and another nic port direct connected to a device that we're
communicating with using TCP/IP protocol. The device is a slave - only
speaks when spoken to.

With a network "sniffer" we're able to see all of the packets going to/from
our slave device. On ten-minute intervals, we see a packet coming out of
the Alpha containing information as follows:

DEC_Console MOP RC ----- Maintenance Operation Remote Console Protocol
-------

We've disabled LAT to this port, so we know it isn't coming from that.

I've perused the archives and saw a posting from 06 Feb 1999, "Stopping DEC
Remote Console":

During a network audit, I discovered that we are still seeing
packets from Digital Unix machines (3.2C & 4.0D) for Ether Type=6002
(DEC Remote Console). These machines have lat unconfigured and
turned
        off.
How do I turn of the remote console?

Looks like our problem exactly!

But the archives don't have the Summary to this question.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks.
