We are looking at the end of PVS support of Digital Unix 4.0D on June 30 this year - we have 6 Alphas (4-1000/1000A, 1-2100, 1-4100) currently running that version and need to upgrade to 4.0F (on our way to 5). Are there any "gotchas" we should know about to make this transition a bit smoother? We would like to go to 4.0F because we already have the CD set for that version. Once we are on 4.0F we would like to stay there for a little while before going to 5.
Also, any input on the best Firmware versions to use with 4.0F on these hardware types? Would the latest be fine? Or do I need to load an older version, like 5.6 which came with the 4.0F CD set or the 5.7, which came with the 5.0a CD set?
