Hi,
I am seeking input on Seagate Travan drives.
Seagate disk drives have been ultra-reliable for me, with some SCSI drives
overheating and shutting down and then functioning perfectly once they were
back online.
However, recent experiences with Seagate Travan tapes have left me very
unhappy.
I have had two Seagate Travan SCSI drives give up on customer sites. The
first one was taken back under warranty, and it seems like Seagate does not
want to know. The drive has been away for about 4 weeks and there is no
estimate of when it will be back.
What are the experiences out there?
We are looking at moving to DDS4 or DLT drives. What are pros and cons?
Regards
