Moving PCI cards to different slots.

Greetings,

I'm playing with a PCI card that I think may not like
the slot that it's in. I'm on a PC164LX mobo. I wanted
to know what I have to do if I want to swap slots. Do
I have to boot the generic kernel or something to
prevent the kernel from complaining at boot time? What
is the best way of doing this?

-Octave
