Summary: Differential SCSI prob in ES40

Thanks to all who replied. The answer is:

Install card (any open PCI slot)
Boot -fi genvmunix (I had been doing "cp genvmunix vmunix")
edit /sys/conf/MYHOST and add the line "config_driver isp"
rebuild the kernel "doconfig -c MYHOST" and move it into place
reboot
