Hallo,
Iam having an ASE+NFS question:
We are having 2 File servers configured with ASE(Available server
environment)
All the user home directories are on this server. We also use NIS in our
environment for passwd, group etc. We use automount to export the
information
to user Tru64 WS. That means I have the following entries in
/etc/exports file on the
server.
.INCLUDE /etc/exports.ase
and exports.ase file contains:
.INCLUDE /etc/exports.ase.macine1
.INCLUDE /etc/exports.ase.machine2
and /etc/exports.ase.macine1 contains:
/home /var/ase/mnt/machine1/home -root=0 <--------------------
We are having around 40 Tru64 WS used by users. So when the user logs
to his machine his directory is exported to that machine. But the
security
is not enough since you see the mount command marked with <---. I would
like to know how can I specify the WS names so that only these WS are
allowed
to mount the /home directory. Not all the machines on the net. Is there
a way
of specifying all the machines in a file and name that file in the
export file?
If that the case where I have to mention that file in the above export
command?
Normally in export command one can explicitly define the name of the
machine
for mount access. I donot know how can I do it with ASE since I have a
number
of machines I need few lines to specify all the machines in the file. Is
this allowed
with ASE?
Your suuggestions will be appreciated.
regards,
Kumar
