Problem with aio_raw library?

We've gone around and around on this one. I'm calling Compaq in the AM, but
thought I might ask here. We've got some ProCOBOL (Oracle) programs that
use a call to the 'system' routine to execute a command in a subprocess.
Under Tru64 4.0E and the Compaq COBOL compiler this works just fine, even
when linked with the Oracle Net8 routines. Under Tru64 5.1, the Compaq
COBOL compiler, and Oracle 8.1.7 the 'system' call hangs when linked with
the Oracle libclntsh library. If but runs just fine when we just
compile/link it 'plain vanilla'. We developed a stripped-down test case
that reproduces the problem every time.

Testing revealed that we can reproduce the problem by linking the program
with the aio_raw library WITHOUT linking in the Oracle libraries. We were
originally blaming it on Oracle, but it seems that something in libclntsh is
dependent on something in aio_raw, which is why we see the problem when
linked with the Oracle libs. Has anyone else seen something along these
lines?

Thanks!
Jay
