Hi,
We are running Tru64 4.0F on a DS-20. I want to monitor a particular
process on this machine (call it host1) which looks like this from the ps
command (the line is wrapped)...
0 937 1 0 44 0 2.23M 432K event S ?? 0:36.46
/local/ctn-2.10.3/bin/simple_storage -i -x /DICOM/data 2314
But look what the getmany command returns for a couple of variables...
hrSWRunPath.937 = /local/ctn
hrSWRunParameters.937 = -2.10.3/bin/simple_storage -i -x /DICOM/data 2314
The "-" in the pathname is interpreted as a command argument character
rather than as part of the pathname. Looks like a bug. So that's question
#1.
That led me to try this same command from an XP1000 (call it host2) that is
running 5.0A to see if its getmany command would make the same error when
looking at this process on host1. Turns out that host2 does not have the
getmany utility. So here's question #2: Should getmany be on this machine?
Is the SNMP configuration/setup wrong, etc...?
Both machines are running snmpd, so I assume each is configured for SNMP.
I don't recall doing anything specific in with regard to SNMP when these
machines were setup. I'm the first to admit, however, that my knowledge of
SNMP is VERY limited!
Thanks for your help. I will summarize.
