Can you dual port FC disks on 5.1?

Hi,

First of all I know this is unsupported, but I just want to know if
anybody is doing this anyway, and how is it working.

We have some FC disks (not from Compaq) on two FC hubs, and we were
considering connecting the disks to two FC adapters on our GS80 running 5.1
pk2. This is of course for failover.

I have a few questions: How will the OS handle dual porting of the FC
disks? It will see the same wwid on two separate scsi channels, will it
create two separate devices? Will 5.1 realize that the wwid is the same and
if one adapter goes down use the other one to get to it? Can I configure it
to do this? And if so does it require a separate license?

Or is there a better way to do this that I haven't considered yet?

UNIX is very user friendly, It's just very particular about who it makes
friends with.
