Subject: How to verify disks write cache is switched off in fibre HSG80
Hi all
I need to verify that all the drives in a Fibre HSG80 write cache is
disabled {Write through}. In case of power failure, cache on HSG80 is
battery backed up, but actual disks are not. So there can be a potential
loss of data in extreme cases.
On normal SCSI controllers, this is usually easy to determine. Use some
SCSI command and switch on/off.
Please note that this is for the actual disks, not configured RAID, LUN's.
AFAIK Compaq drives are default write cache off.
Thanks
