Thank you to Dave Campbell,
to Dr. Thomas P. Blinn and Fraser Macfarlane
Dave says :
"I my experience, the problem is not with the ECO kit itself but with the
fact that in order for the ECO kit to be successfully installed the genroco
kit needs to be removed first. Once the ECO kit has been successfully
applied the genroco kit can then be re-applied. This obviously adds another
level of complexity to the upgrade process and also an additional number of
kernel rebuilds and reboots.
I have been through this situation many times with ECO kits and version
upgrades on 4.0D, 4.0E and 4.0F. However I have never used a genroco with
ECO 8 on 4.0D, so I cannot specifically say whether there are any known
issues here."
Thomas from Compaq, as well as other colleague, says
"Compaq NEVER supported the Genroco option you reference"
I guess that the solution is to use another card !
