Kernel Tuning Question

Hi all,

were adding a 3rd part tax package to our ERP, which may effect Kernel
parameters. We run 300 clients on telnet, and the vendor's statement for
the API is that "each client will open an additional 200 to 250 files, with
all of the requisite locks which occur".

The vendor's suggestions for HPUX11 is:

try maxfiles = hard limit of 2048
        nfile=65532
        nflocks(very important) = between 1000 to 2000
        ninode = 65532

We're the 1st large Tru64UNIX installation of this tax package.

Are there similar kernel parameters in Tru64UNIX?

I plan to tune in dxkerneltuner, confirm the tail of /etc/sysconfigtab, and
reboot. Any suggestions or direction's are appreciated.

AS4100
Tru64UNIX 4.0f pk3
