Thanks to Mohamed, Dela, Jim, Dennis, and V.Sreenivasa
who suggested using the passwd command to reset it.
Jeffrey further suggested doing it in single user mode
and checking the password lifetimes.
I misstated the original problem: what is the problem
is not that the password _has_ expired already, but
that it is expiring at all. I fixed it with
dxaccounts/security by changing the lifetimes and
expirations.
