I have a Tru64 4.0F system that the cron daemon periodically
dies on. When it goes away any active cron jobs get killed
and the following line is entered into /var/adm/cron/log:
*** cron exiting on signal 15 *** pid = 18517 Thu Apr 12 04:20:17 2001
I can see this is a SIGTERM, but I don't understand why it
is receiving one.
We've been able to identify that it only happens when a
particular job is being run ( but not every time that job is
run - only occasionally ). The job that causes the daemon to
die is not running as root.
What could cause this and (more importantly) what can I do
to prevent it.
Thanks in advance.
