rvdump terribly slow

dear all,

we'd like to make use of advfs clone filesets and would use new v5.0a
"rvdump" to copy the filesets to a remote tape drive. But compared to a
performance of almost 30GB an hour with "rcp" we experience, that rvdump is
terribly slow and will hardly copy 2GB within in the same time over an FDDI
based network. So we'd rather stick with the old r-shelled vdump command to
do remote backups instead.

Does anybody have any hints available on rvdump?
