SUMMARY: Memory modules installed in Alphaserver.

I'm afraid neither of the following worked for me, although we are using
older hardware. Thanks for them anyhow and all other suggestions
welcome.

I had been hoping for something like "/usr/platform/`uname
-m`/sbin/prtdiag" on a Sun.
I guess I'll have to schedule some downtime now :-(

Thanks again for the replies,

Fergus.

I don't think the operating system maintains this information
in a way that some application could make use of it. I think
all the kernel cares about is "how many pages are there". On
the newer GS systems, some information may be kept about whether
memory modules are local to a QBB or remote, but probably little
        detail within that.

Some systems log extensive field replacable unit information
to the binary error log when the boot. This may include
details of the memory subsystem, since those are FRUs. DEC-
event or Compaq Analyze should be able to interpret this
        information, depending on the system.
