Hi there,
Just wondering if anybody out there is running Interbase, version 4.0 (of
any flavour, one I've installed on a DS20 is version 4.0M) on Tru64.
Specifically my platform is Tru64 Unix version 4.0F (uname -a ==> V4.0 1229
alpha)
Incredibly, the original vendor of Interbase (for whom at least for version
4 supposed to still get the license generated by) does not seem... to know
how to generate a key to license the software (the Canadian office anyway, I
think they're trying to get information out of the head office in California
but has taken ages so far). As an example, they seemed to want an 8
character hostid but Tru64 goes by the 12 character Ethernet value (although
it has been suggested to me an 8 character translation of the IP address I'm
using is the right way to go, but again the vendor seem to have passed that
on to California rather than just try it).
So, if anybody has already been over this hump I'd appreciate hearing about
it - my e-mail address is dhume_at_gds.ca - or if only Interbase version 6
is being run on Tru64 as far as anybody knows, I'd appreciate hearing that
too. I will certainly summarize if there is a conclusive answer...
Thanks in Advance,
David Hume
