How to define console term type

Hi Managers,
        SYS info: Dec Alpha 3000/400
        terminal: WYSE WY120
        OS: Tru64 4.0D

I just moved the console back to the Alpha for security reasons and
have found that it does not responding to the keyboard. I do get a
login prompt. However every second character typed makes the
prompt reappear, as if I were typing return. Previously the console
was displayed using the hyperterminal program from a windows PC
and a serial connection.

I have been trying to gleam how to set this up from my UNIX power
tools but I am not getting anywhere. I don't know if I should be
using termcap or terminfo. The former doesn't have an entry for
wy50, the latter has a data file (terminfo/w/wy50).

I know this is a complex area but is there a simple way to set the
term type for the console? Below is the stty info.

Thanx
PS: Does any one know when the archive search for Tru64 will be
back on-line?

> stty -f /dev/console
#11 disc;speed 9600 baud; -parity hupcl clocal
werase = <undef>; dsusp = <undef>; lnext = <undef>; discard =
<undef>
reprint = <undef>
-inpck -istrip -ixany onlcr
-isig -icanon -echo -echoe -echok
