Problems connecting via ssh2.3.0 to openssh2.5.2p2

Hi,

I am having problems connecting via ssh version 2.3.0 on a alpha tru64
version 4.0F to a Redhat linux computer running openssh-2.5.2p2.
It gets to the point of querying for the password , but it doesn't accept
the password. It doesn't give an error message just repeats the query
many times. Any help will be appreciated.
