Tru64 Managers:
I have a two-node TruCluster 5.1 (dual ES40 systems). There is one tape
drive directly attached to Member1 of the cluster.
I'm trying to configure and license Legato Networker 6.0.1, but a few hacks
were needed along the way:
- Followed the special Tru64 instructions, "How to Install Networker Server
on One Member of the TruCluster Server Environment"
- Edited the 'networker.action' file
- created an empty file called 'NetWorker.clustersvr'
This seems to get the product running -- but now the software is complaining
that it wants the "Power Edition" license since it senses this is a
"cluster" -- even though the cluster features aren't being used (e.g. no
failover of Legato, no shared tape drive, etc.)
Have others configured Legato in this mode? [with a single node in a
cluster handling all the backups]
If so I'd appreciate your input.
I also would like to know if this installation mode should "really" require
a cluster-wide Power Edition license, or if the Network Edition license
should suffice.
Thank you.
