HSZ70 detection problem

I've been attempting to add an HSZ70 controller to a 4100 machine (which
already has a HSZ50 controller on it). It's seen by SRM but after booting the
kernel fails to find the qlogic 1040 scsi controller, which seems a bit
strange as it finds the other qlogic 1040 card on the other pci bus that has
the system disks on. I've rebuilt the kernel, including a generic 'everything
in' build but to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? O/S is 4.0D, SRM 5.5 (yeah I know it's all out
of date but the powers that be want the controller on before I can upgrade
it). I'm sure there's something obvious that I've missed but further attempts
to investigate were somewhat hindered by reaching the end of the window we
had for system downtime.

cheers
john
