rvdump/rvrestore on multiple tapes?

I backed up an advfs fileset on a machine running 5.1 to a DLT on a
machine running 4.0d using rvdump. The dump spanned 3 tapes. When I
attempt a restore the first tape gets read all right then I get an error
message about the tape running out and I put in the second tape where upon
rvrestore complains about not being able to read the remote device.

Should I be able to do remote dumps across multiple tapes? What do other
people do?
