In need of trace utility for 5.1

Tru64 5.1 :
Oracle 7.3.4.5

Does anyone know where I can find a TRACE utility to monitor library calls
and system calls for an Oracle process (ora_dbwr_camswf) ,i.e Oracle's
database writer. In using Direct IO Oracle "automatically opens all Advfs
files in the database with the O_DIRECTIO flag if the RDBMS is running"
correct versions. I'm convinced this is not happening.
All patches are in place and bench marks confirm no performance increase.
