We are thinking about using cfsmgr to place filesystems in a cluster
on a particular host. More specifically, we would like to do this as a
part of our <resource_name>.scr script. So If member1 in the cluster
was up and had all the resources and member2 was rebooted or came up
after a crash, when I relocate the resource to member2, the cfsserver
for all the filesystems that this particular resource does I/O to,
would also be relocated to member2. This so, we don't have to go over
the memory channel to do I/O. We do see approx. a 20% degradation in
I/O performance if I have to go over the memory channel to do the
same. Any reasons not to do this? Any known problems/issues? I know we
are supposed to let the cluster handle the placement of the
filesystems but this is really important that we get the disks local.
Is there a way to set up favoured members on the filesystems
themselves? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
