The problem is solved: the t-connectors I used weren't 50 ohm. Oops....
Thanks for the response.
Still I have another question: how do I setup a DECserver 90TL or 90M to use
multisessions with Digital VT420 terminals through one cable connected to
comm1 ? If I only use one session everything goes ok and the setup of the
terminals looks correct (sessions on com1), but when I try to begin a 2nd
session, the host requires a service-name (also for the existing session). I
don't know which host is meant (the terminal itself, the terminal-server or
the Unix-server) and how I could enable multi-sessions on these
terminal-servers. Do I have to something with latcp / latsetup as well ??
Thanks again.

The original question was:
Hi all,
I have a DECserver 90TL that I want to use stand-alone. It's coming from a
back-panel and was getting it's ip-address etc. through bootptab. It passes
the self-test, but does not get through the network test, because it doesn't
seem to find the Unix-server (which is running 4.0F). Does anyone know if I
have to reboot the server or if it possible to run bootptab manually ?
Thanks in advance.
Roland
