i have NCR machine i want copy files from it to AlphaServer DS20 with the

rcp is doing exactly what it should be doing. If you want to modify the
file ownership or protections on the remote system, then follow up your
rcp with an rsh (assuming the remote user has appropriate permissions).
Or use something like "tar" that passes the source system protection and
ownership information as part of the package.
