I guess I was execpting better from this list, while I thought most would
go with compaq I thought I get better reason's then it's better hardware,
software, support or it's cheaper. All of which I will disagree with, D H
Brown and assc. had rated the OS's of the top 4 and linux and AIX has been
number one for six year now. In the last 18 months IBM has made hugh
improvements in its hardware line and cut the cost. I also think the
reseller you deal with has alot to do with that. Now I come from an IBM
shop before I used TRU64 and I have to say that AIX is a far cry better
then TRU64, the one thing I do love about TRU64 is the TRUCluster and I
have not seen any better than this.
Also IBM has enbraced linux as shown in thier lastest version of AIX 5L, I
have not seen any other UNIX's enbrace linux this way.
I like to thank all that replied, I guess it comes down to what you like to
work on, only one person replied back with a very open mind about the
question asked.
thanks
Vince
