See http://aa11.cjb.net/tru64_unix_managers/2000/05/0115.html
Also see http://www.support.compaq.com/open3d/

opengl.so used to be part of the Open3D product.
It's in the Open3D subset kit O3DDWSGLBASE### for Tru64 v4.x.
The Open3D product is not available for Tru64 V5.x,

For V5.x, openGL is included with the device drivers
for Compaq's 3D graphics cards. The original drivers are on
the Tru64 Operating System CD "Associated Products Volume 2"

Updated drivers are available by way of the Layered Products'
CD subscriptions, which ship quarterly.

For what it's worth, lists of all of the files included
in any product you've ever installed are preserved in the
files /usr/.smdb./*.inv

I hope this helps a little.

ompaq call thier version of OpenGL "Open3D". I do see that the software
product called O3DBASE470 (on a Tru64 UNIX 4.0G system) has a library file
called ./usr/shlib/X11/lib_dec_opengl.so - this may or may not be what you
need.
I have no experience (yet) with T64U V 5.0 and higher, but on 4.x, you can
see the individual file names of a subset in the directory called
/usr/.smdb. - the "inventory files" have a filetype .inv.

Most folks use grep to look at the .inv files in the /usr/.smdb, to figure
out what's supposed to go where.

Maybe "Associated CD" OPEN3D?!

Thomas Blinn's gave a more precise answer:
==========================================

If it's on the CD media you have, it's probably in the Open3D part of the
kit (on one of the Associated Products CDROM media).

To find the kit inventory, assuming it is setld compatible kits, mount the
CDROM and use the find command to find directories with the magic name
"instctrl" and in each such directory, look for files with a name that
starts with UPPERCASE letters, then 3 digits, then ".inv" and search in
each such file for the file you are looking for; these files use tab
characters between fields, so if you are looking for openGl.so then
you could grep for "/openGl.so<tab>" in these files. If you can find
the file you seek in an inventory file, the name of the inventory file
and the path to the instctrl will help you identify the subset of the
product that you need to install; you might need to install other stuff
too.

By the way, there are layered product library kits with multiple CDROMs
for each of the releases you mention, and the file you seek might be on
one of those CDs, not in the base OS kit at all, depending on which of
the products contains it.

The OpenGL libraries ship as part of the Open3d or Powerstorm 4D support on
the Associated Product CD vol II.
