Just wondering what pop servers TU admins are using and how
they've got them configured.
Details:
For years we've used Qualcomm's qpopper. It's been very reliable
and works well with Eudora which is the most popular mail client here.
However qpopper has this feature of copying the users mail spool to
a lock file and then copying it back afterwards. With mail spool files
getting larger this is starting to impact on the performance of our mail
server (DPW 500au, TU 4.0F).
Qpopper also has the option of running in "server" mode which doesn't
copy the spool file back and forward.
Is anyone running qpopper in server mode? Any problems?
Is anyone running ipop3 (comes with imap from Washington University)?
Any other pop server recommendations?
Thanks
Ian
