Hi Managers !
I'm having problems with your new SAP Cluster. The network suddenly fails.
I'm able to ping the server on the server but I'm not able to ping anything
outside the server. From outside I'm not able to ping the server. The
cluster doesn't see the problem, but I'm not able to connect to the services
running on the affected server. I've seen the problem on both servers in the
cluster.
The network can't be started without rebooting the server (rcinet restart
fails (see log in the bottom of this mail)).
Has anyone seen this problem before and what's the solution.
Is NetRAIN the problem ?
NetRAIN and Gigabit cards really haven't been working until patchkit 3.
Patchkit 3 should solve the problem. Now the network is able to be started
during boot without ifconfig statements in the /etc/inet.local file.
Cluster configuration :
- Tru64 5.1 patchkit 3
- 2xGS160 (1.5km between)
- 4 CPU's and 8Gb Memory in each
- 4xESA12000 (SAN)
- 2xGigabit NetRAIN in each server.
- 2xMemory Channel in each server.
The frontend/application server part consists of 7xES40 servers well
equipped with CPU's and Memory.
With kind regards
Jan Hansen
