A big thanks to Thomas Leitner, Thomas Blinn and Graham Allan.

Hi managers.

I have a question about the new 3Dlabs Oxygen VX1 PCI adapter.

Does Tru64 have OpenGL (hardware acceleration) for this graphic card?

And how about the 2D preformance?
If anyone have a Oxygen adapter, can you run x11perf -circle100 and give me the results?
I have a PS300 in my PWS and its realy poor 2D graphics.

2D preformance:

Graham Allan says:
The VX1 is much, much better for 2D than the previous entry-level ELSA
GLoria Synergy.
Here's the result from x11perf on a XP900 (466MHz) workstation, running
Tru64 5.1 patchkit 3, running X at 1600x1200 in 24-bits:
40000 reps _at_ 0.1934 msec ( 5170.0/sec): 100-pixel circle
And Thomas Blinn:

2D performance is slightly better than the ELSA GLoria Synergy/Comet
card that the VX1 replaces. For 1024x768 8-bit color, it gets about
23 Xmarks. 16-bit performance seems optimal for this card; it gets
24 Xmarks (at 1024x768) in 16-bit truecolor mode. 24-bit truecolor
mode drops the performance to about 14 Xmarks at 1024x768.
I run my own VX1 card at 1280x1024 16-color mode. For the -circle100
test, I get 5260/second over a total of 200000 reps.

3D hardware support.

Thomas Blinn:
No, we will not be supporting OpenGL on the VX1, either with or without
hardware acceleration.

Seems to this is the fastest 2D Compaq/Tru64 graphic card right now.
It had be realy nice if Compaq could make a fast 2D graphics card with 3D (OpenGL) hardware support under Tru64/OVMS and Linux.
