Run vquotacheck and follow it with a defrag
Original question:
Hi all,
I have just killed 2 processes that created a 2GB trace file on file
system
A. I then moved the trace
file to another file system, B, but the the space on file system A has
not
been replenished.
I've done an fuser on the directory that originally contained the 2GB
file
but nothing.
I don't see any other processes that could be using the moved file
either.
Is there a command i can use to replenish the space, that does not
entail
unmounting the file system,
as this is a 24x7 system.
All i can think of is to wait a while until an unknown process dies or
advfs
replenishes the space
on its own.
The system is running 4.0d on an alpha 4100.
Any ideas?
