Thanks to all who responded so quickly. Everyone is pretty much saying
the same thing.
Here is a good quote,
"If you are running the Pre-installation check, it will not actually
install the patches no matter what you tell it. After telling it to run
the pre-installation check, you should proceed as you would if you were
actually going to do the installation, that is say "ALL of the above"
and it will do all the consistency checks and tell you what will
install. After that you will likely have to say "Install all which
passed the check" and when it gets to the point that it actually would
install the patches it will exit. Meanwhile you will have seen a
run-through of everything except the actual installation."
Thanks Sheila, thanks everyone else also too, you were all saying
pretty much the same thing.
