What is a "rdy hld" thread state?

Our home grown database is experiencing a problem under Tru64 Unix 5.1. For
reasons that aren't clear to us certain threads are going into a "rdy hld"
(it might be "rdy hold", can't remember) state. This shows up in ladebug
when you do a tlist. These threads are basically out-to-lunch, and it's
causing our database to essentially hang while processing a query.

The ladebug help doesn't even list "rdy hld" as a valid state. Does anyone
know what this state means? An even bigger god-send would be someone who
might know what might make a thread go into this state. FWIW we also see
threads going into a state of "rdy gbl", which also is not listed in the
ladebug help as a valid state.

Many thanks for any clues, pointers, etc!
