Hi all,
The problem was with the ownership & permission on the
/var/adm/pacct file.
The owner and group of this file should be "adm". And the permission
to be set to "0664".
Now turn on process accounting using the foll command:
#/usr/sbin/acct/accton /var/adm/pacct

Subject: Turning process accounting on
Hi,
Though process accounting is on and /var/adm/pacct exists, lastcomm
command gives me an "No information available. Accounting may be turned
off" messages.
When i try to manually start accounting ie. by giving turnacct on, i
receive the foll message.
accton: uid/gid not adm
What does this mean. How do i make "lastcomm" work?
Regards,
Rekha
