OKOK ..
I think it's time I posted a summary for this ..*cough* ?bug? *cough*
*cough*.........
This gentleman seems to sum it up quite well, it's basically saying that to
get rid of the symbolic links, you have to copy/move everything back to the
/var/adm directory to overwrite them.
Another thing, however, is that BECAUSE I was using 'ls -l" <-alpha L, of
/var/adm/syslog.dated, and because syslog.dated was a symbolic link to a
directory, it was just displaying the symbolic link and not the directory
contents. Apparently, it works fine with 'ls' by itself.
Bizarre behaviour! I'd love to see a checkbox available in the installation
to prevent these symlinks from being installed!

"If by "default clustering," you mean the "member0" directory structures,
the answer is you can't get rid of them easily. There's no switch to use at
install time to *not* use them. I suppose you could manually relocate
things, e.g., move
/var/cluster/members/member0/adm/lmf
to
/var/adm/lmf
but you'd have to make that sort of move manually for every CDSL
(context-dependent symbolic link)."

Thanks also to Corrinne Haesaerts for pointing out that "ls" works by
itself,
And Larry Clegg for his response!
