JBOD sys disk in DS20

Hi managers,

quicky question hopefully, I have a DS20 with one lone system disk in
the cabinet - I can't find any documentation anywhere re DS20's...how do
I access this disk...is it absolutely necessary to take the system
offline and use the ECU admin tool? I am also wondering why it was
built with a jbod system disk....?
