Well, that didn't take long. Thanks to:
Stan Horwitz, Vincent Kiely, Steve VanDevender and Richard Loken.

They all said the problem is on eddinc.net's end. Their DNS, especially
their MX records are messed up. Unfortunately, other than trying to call
them I can't let them know about the problem.
As long as we have seen this problem you would think others would have
complained and they would have fixed the problem.

ORIGINAL QUESTION:
>I'm not sure if this is a sendmail problem but that is a good place to
start. I have a person >subscribed to a list here whose ISP is
eddinc.net. Mail usually goes to him just fine but >occasionally and for
the last week or so it time out with the following error message:
>
>(Deferred: Name server: eddinc.net: host name lookup failure)
>
>He has sent us messages wondering why he hasn't gotten any mail so
sending works.
>
>I can ping and do a traceroute to eddinc.net. I can also get to their
website, www.eddinc.net, >but for some reason mail cannot be sent to
him. I have even tried to send a message to >support_at_eddinc.net and I get
the same error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
