We have a 4 node V5.1 cluster. The ip addresses that I used to provide
to the cluster interconnects ie. HOST_A-mc0, HOST_B-mc0, HOST_C-mc0
and HOST_D-mc0 were 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2, 10.0.0.3 and 10.0.0.4
respectively. Now, I found out that on our intranet someone is using
these addresses. The clu_create and clu_add_member script will not
work if the address is in use, of course. Since I don't want to run
into this problem again, I need to change these ip addresses on my
cluster to some registered space that I have obtained. Looks like I
would have to change these ip addresses in three places -
/etc/hosts
/etc/rc.config (Host specific because it is a CDSL)
/etc/sysconfigtab (Host specific because it is a CDSL)
And then if I reboot the entire cluster I should be okay. I have
opened a call with Support and they are researching this but has
anyone else tried this with successful results? Any do's and don'ts?
Any and all help and information will be greatly appreciated.
