DHCP Setup - what's wrong

Hi,

I tried to setup DHCP but failed in the very beginning
- registering nodes (jdbreg file) gave
  " can't open database /var/join/dba.hsh :Error 79"
- xjoin: trying to save parameters gave
"cant write to database, may be locked. Make sure server is
  not running"
The databases exist in /var/join/ (since yesterday night, when I
was first playing around with DHCP. I don't know how I created them...)

There is no joind daemon running which could exclude the access
of jdbreg (in the log file one finds
  "can't bind socket to (port,address) = (67,0.0.0.0) : Address
  already in use" )
- DHCP Server is configured in network setup

In the documentation (on the web) one finds "subset OSFINET400 should
be installed". This is not the case. But obviously most DHCP components
are there ( man pages, joind, /etc/join, ...). Installed from OSFINET is
only OSFINET425 (additional network services).

What could be the reason for my basic problems?

Regards

Otto
