RAID3000 disklabel

We have 2 brand-new es40's with a Pedestal RAID RA3000 with Dual HSZ22
Controllers and 7 9GB drives. We used the hsz22 swagent from a windows2000
machine connected to the RA3000 via 2 serial cables, and made 5 virtual
drives from 2 JBOD disks and made the remaining drives into a RAID5.

My problem is as follows: I can see the hsz22 drives from the es40 as
dsk14,dsk17,dsk18,dsk19 & dsk20 but can NOT write a disklabel to be able
to utilize the drives. The reason we did this was because when we go to
cluster the es40s, we need 4 drives - 1 for system, 1 each cluster and 1
quorum drive that have to be on the RAID set according to compaq software.

I have called and have several open calls with compaq but to no avail -
nobody seems to know what's happening - Storage tells me I need software
support for the disklabel command, software says I need hardware support,
hardware support says I need storage support and the circle never ends.
How do I make this work?
