The majority of the folks recommened booting the generic kernel and
reconfig'ing the kernel or running sizer -n ___ and add the lines
manaully to the kernel file.
I can't believe I overlooked this one. Sorry.
Also, some say that if 'show device' doesn't list the device to upgrade
the firmware.
Thanks to all replies!

Subject: Adding a KGPSA-BC fibre card to an AS 4100
I added a KGPSA-BC fibre card to our AlphaServer 4100 but it appears the
system doesn't recognize it. It's not listed in uerf or /var/adm/messages
and I get the following when running the emxmgr...
# emxmgr
Unable to locate emx driver major number
Unable to configure for emx subsystem
I would have done a 'show device' at the console prompt but I was
distracted by our second CPU's fan failure. Nothing is ever easy, right?
Is their something I need to do at the firmware level to get the card
recognized? Do I need to add it via the AlphaBios? The FC Card doc leads
me to believe that it should just appear during bootup. I'm not seeing
any hints ion the 4100 hardware manual either..
I'm taking the system down in just a few hours so any quick replies would
be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
